Toys "R" Us, Inc. announced that the Toys "R" Us Children’s Fund has donated $1.0 million dollars to support the efforts of Save the Children, USA. These funds are earmarked to aid those children and families who have been devastated by the recent tsunamis in Southeastern Asia.
Toys "R" Us has chosen Save the Children because they work to provide lasting and positive change in the lives of children in need. They work in more than 120 countries to ensure children’s rights to survival, development, and protection. The gifts collected for the tsunami victims will support and strengthen this organization’s around-the-clock push to expand lifesaving relief to reach children and families, providing them with shelter, food, clean water, and access to medical care. The charity also has long-term goals to help children after this catastrophe.
Save the Children workers throughout Asia have begun delivering much-needed food, water, medicines, and shelter to thousands of children and their families that have survived one of history’s worst natural disasters.
